LE VÉLO PEUGEOT
For those of you who don't know, I share my house with a guy from New Zealand called Anthony. When Anthony first moved in, he would often use this great little website called FreeCycle (www.freecycle.org) which basically gave him access to all these free things, one of them being a bicycle.
I've always had an interest in learning how to cycle in the city, and seeing Anthony riding around everyday made me hungry to learn. The only problem being, my abominable sense of direction and space, which with no doubt, would get me lost and killed within minutes of my first tour.
But then last week happened and I saw something that inspired me to change. I was walking down the street and I saw the most beautiful bicycle I've ever seen. It was a Peugeot. The model number escapes me but I do know it is a racing bike circa 1984. In fact, this bicycle was so beautiful it made me want to learn how to tame it and dedicate this blogs new layout to it.
The good folks at Hackney council offer free cycling lessons to those interested. My plan, as I see it so far is to find one such Peugeot specimen, and then use this mini-course to set me on my way to cycling heaven (metaphorical, not dead man's heaven).
Wish me luck!
